Bournes international moves have added Live Video services to their range of flexible, alternative options for in-home move consultations for Removals, Storage and Shipping services. Available 24/7, the new video survey function aims to make the relocation process even more convenient and easy for customers planning a move abroad.
In a few simple steps, you can now be connected directly with one of our experienced Move Consultants face-to-face, at your convenience, to undertake a walk through around your home and provide a quote for your move.
Improved responsiveness for your international move
Traditionally, our move consultants visit customers moving abroad in their homes to discuss individual move requirements – things like the items to be moved, access to the property and individual preferences, as well as providing advice and support for the upcoming move – however, the new live video service eliminates this need for a home visit on occasions where it would provide a better option for everyone.
Over time, Bournes have recognised that there are lots of occasions where this traditional approach can be restrictive, and that new technology could help us to provide a more flexible way of quoting customers for their international relocations. For example, perhaps you need to move quickly, with little notice, and aren’t able to schedule a home visit due to work commitments; perhaps your property is difficult to access due to poor weather conditions or roadworks in the area; or maybe you simply prefer the idea of a video survey to an in-home visit – whatever the reason, our video survey service allows us to offer complete flexibility and overcome a range of challenges that mean in-home appointments don’t work or aren’t preferred whilst maintaining our personal service and the ability to offer an accurate quotation (extensive testing has shown accuracy via video to be equal to in person visits.)
Unlike the traditional surveys we offer, however, the live in-home video surveys can be taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means that we can easily slot in around you, offering appointments on a day and at a time that suits you. Alternatively, we also offer self-surveys via a smartphone app, which is great if you are really pushed for time or just want to provide us with some information about your move without guidance from a move consultant.

With our custom designed technology, we can connect with you in just a few seconds via smartphone to provide your live video survey for international removals. The consultant will then guide you in a walk around of your property, during which they can answer questions, give information and get all the details we need to provide a quotation. An additional bonus is that the survey is recorded, so we can share this with our operations teams to help them understand your requirements and provide you with the best possible service for your move.
How it works
The process for using our video survey service is really simple:
- We arrange a date and time that’s convenient with you for the video survey
- An experienced move consultant will call you at the preferred time and date and will talk you through getting connected to our face-to-face video software.
- The consultant will guide you through the walk through of your home exactly as they would if visiting in person.
- Done! As with in-home consultations, we will send over our survey report and quotation as soon as possible.
